High quality reproduction of the Standard Chair, originally made in 1930 by the designer and engineer Jean Prouvé.. Common chairs take most of the user’s weight stress on their back legs. Prouvé’s understanding of the need for stronger back legs translates into the Standard Chair design: an eternally elegant piece with two reinforced back legs that provide excellent stability. Standard is available in the classic version with a natural wooden seat and backrest. Tubular steel piping suffices for the front legs, which are subject to little strain.
The back legs are made of voluminous hollow sections and transfer the strain onto the floor. With its timeless design, Standard is the easy modern fit for any setting, whether domestic and public dining rooms or commercial seating areas.
